The FT3 powder rheometer uses an innovative principle to assess flow properties of powder. A twisted blade rotates and moves along a programmable helical path through the material, producing a wide range of displacement modes. Flow properties are assessed in terms of the force, torque and energy profiles measured during the test. Using this method, very small differences in rheological properties are detectable and high repeatability of results is achievable. Volumes from 10 to 300 cm³ can be evaluated by selecting the appropriate sizes of blade and vessel. In addition to programmed testing, fully-programmable blending routines can be constructed for blending dry powders or mixtures of powder and liquid. Controlled parameters include helical path angle, tip speed and height traversed. An optional data analysis software package allows the easy interpretation and comparison of data.
