The Multi PID photoionization detector weighing only 800 g is operated via six keys. Two displays with background illumination provide fast and clear information. The upper display indicates the measured concentra-tion in ppm, the lower one includes a variable display for menu-assisted use.
Thus calibration of the instrument, entry of substance-specific data or data transmission to a computer do not represent any problem. Multi PID incorporates the following display modes:
• current concentration in ppm,
• maximum concentration determined during measurement,
• 15-minute and 8-hour av-erage value.
Multi PID has been approved as an explosion-proof instrument in Europe and North America (EEx ib m IICT4/class I, division 1, groups ABCD, T4) and can also be used for measurements in critical areas. The PID functional principle is based on the ionization of organic substances present in the air by means of an UV-source thus enabling detection of a complete group of substances. Calibrated accordingly, a PID can even be used for quantifying an individual substance.
