These safety cabinets are permanently ventilated and therefore clearly reduce the danger of explosions. Due to their sandwich construction in case of fire the temperature inside of the cabinet will not rise above 180 °C in the first 90 minutes. Personnel have sufficient time to leave their place of work. As an additional safety option, the manufacturer offers a two-stage door closing device which guarantees automatic thermomechanic locking of the doors, if the temperature exceeds 50 °C.
The carcass and doors are made of epoxy resin coated electrostatically galvanised steel. Each door is individually lockable. The cabinet’s door edges and joints are equipped with heat-sensitive, non-combustible, intumescent seals. These expand and fill the joints with foam, sealing the cabinet in case of fire. At the same time, the inlet and outlet ventilation ports are automatically closed by disc valves, isolating the contents of the cabinet. Catchment troughs will collect larger spillages. The individual shelves, which are height adjustable, take smaller spil-lages. Adjustable feet enable setting up and adjusting the safety cabinets in all rooms.
