The Scherzinger range to transfer sulfuric acid includes pumps with flow rates up to 90 l/min at differential pressures of up to 10 bar and system pressures of up to 100 bar. Atex solutions are possible in zone 1,2, 21 and 22. For sulfuric acid at a concentration below 5 % and more than 95 %, and at temperatures below 30 °C casing and shafts are made of stainless steal 1.4571. For all other site conditions, the material Hastelloy C4 is being used. To choose the correct material for the gears the requested performance is essential. Same is valid for the slide bearing material. Having a differential pressure below 5 bar and a temperature up to max 70 °C the best choice is PTFE, reinforced with 25 % carbon fibre. Pressures of more than 5 bar and/or temperatures higher than 70 °C require gears made of Hastelloy C4 or of oxide ceramics and bearings made of technical ceramics.
