High precision dosing of small volumes can be achieved by adopting a slow-running drive and a positively controlled (steered) valve system instead of self-actuating input and output valves. The decisive constructional feature of this dosing device is that the inputs and outputs are not opened and closed by self-actuating ball valves depending on the pressure situation in the pump chamber. Instead, the inputs and outputs are opened via valve diaphragm cones.
The pump diaphragms and the valve diaphragm cones are positively driven via cams. The pump body consists of a recompacted PTFE block. The working diaphragm and the valves are made of the same PTFE material. The valves close against the PTFE block, i.e. PTFE material contacts PTFE material. No other foreign gasket material is used.
This inert material design from the pump input to the output makes the dosing device suitable for an almost unlimited range of closed liquids and gases such as Cl2, SO2, H2S,
HF, HCl, H2SO4, HNO3, etc.
