The patented Disc Pastillator serves to process molten pro-ducts into free flowing pastilles. He consists of one or more horizontal jacketed discs. A vertical hollow driven shaft connects the cooling discs. Rotation of the hollow shaft, and consequently the circumferential speed of the discs is infinitely adjustable by a variable speed drive. Through one centralized cooling rotary joint, connected to the hollow shaft, the refrigerant is fed and discharged in a closed loop. A constant temperature from the inner diameter to the outer diameter of the discs is secured by a counter rotating flow pattern of the cooling water. The molten product to be processed is fed to the feeding device. This unit is designed to create the pastilles. Size and quantity of the pastilles can be determined by the number and type of dosing nozzles selected. During feeding of the drops onto the cooling disc synchronization is achieved between disc and feed system for perfect shaping of the pastilles. A heavy duty knife holder with different types of knives is available for removing the pastilles.
