High output electronic sounders with outputs to rival sirens have been developed by an English company. Their low current consumption and high output, combined with a wide range of available sounds, make them ideal as fire and security alarms for all industrial applications.
The Syrex 9M is suitable for areas with high ambient noise levels. It has a cast metal casing and a powerful output of 120 dB at 1m. Any of the following five sounds can be selected on the same unit: continuous, slow warble, fast warble, slow pip and fast pip. A variation of this sounder is also available for Zone 2 explosion hazard areas.
The Syrex 6P (ABS flame retardant plastic casing) and 6M (cast metal casing) both have IP65 protection, making them ideal for rugged exterior use. With outputs of 1 12 dB at 1 m, and the same selection of sounds as the 9M, they are suitable for a wide range of applications such as cranes, conveyor systems and process control.
