The process information and management system Prompt offers components for process optimization as well as the usual functions of such software solu-tions. Prompt is based on Oracle with an Win95/ 98/NT-surface. The data can be entered from LIMS- or PLS-systems or by hand. Prompt presents a powerful graphic machine, with which the user can visualize data and a diagrammatic representation, spreadsheet possibilities and interfaces with every customary PC-program. The software even offers a product tracking in continuous plants. It provides a normal time row as well as causal correct representation, this has the effect that every cause (e.g. raw material characteristic and process variables) and effect (e.g. quality, yield, …) is presented in row. This allows an effective analysis of the relations between causes and effects and the generation of data-driven models.
